Every night in New Hampshire, too many mothers and children face an unthinkable reality – nowhere to call home. A car’s backseat becomes a makeshift shelter for a toddler. A pregnant mother doesn’t have the comfort of a bed. It’s a growing crisis, right here in our community.
At New Generation, we’re here to change that story. Our mission is to break the cycle of homelessness among young families through safe shelter, transitional housing, and a variety of support programs that help mothers and their children escape harsh conditions and build self-sufficient futures with stable housing and jobs.
New Generation is their beacon of hope – and we need you to help us light the way.
In the past year, the New Generation saw a 12% increase in the number of children residing at our shelter. And our waitlist continues to grow. The families that come to us face a complex web of challenges, including domestic violence, substance misuse, and financial hardships. Homelessness is often their only option.

Our Services
Shelter & Transitional Housing
Our secure shelter provides 24/7 support and access to basic necessities for families facing homelessness. In this safe environment, mothers work to develop parenting and financial literacy skills and access resources to gain employment and apply for permanent housing. Our transitional living program provides ongoing support for employed moms as they move toward permanent housing and independence.
Stabilization Services
Our highly successful stabilization services are for families that have successfully transitioned to permanent housing but may need additional support to prevent a return to homelessness. We provide ongoing support services and connections to community resources to help mothers continue their progress toward full independence and prevent a return to homelessness. 88% of families in our stabilization services remain in permanent housing after two months, a rate higher than other programs.
